Ricardo I. Ulloa Vargas, Field Pastor
On June 24 the Iglesia Bautista Libre Berea in Santiago, Chile celebrated its first anniversary. The growing congregation has accomplished many things during the last twelve months, the most important of which is organizing its outreach efforts. Today the church conducts regular evangelistic services throughout the week, including Sunday School and home Bible studies. The members are also involved in a systematic door-to-door visitation program, in which the gospel is presented using tracts.
In addition, Pastor Ulloa uses both the internet and radio to reach his community. His weekly Bible-teaching program, Espada del Espíritu, can be heard on Santiago’s 107.3 FM and has the potential of reaching six million people.
The church has taken two important steps this year in its organization. It has completed its registration with the federal government. This legal process was essential to its credible existence among the Chilean people. Also, the congregation was received into the fellowship of the Association of Free Will Baptist Churches in Mexico, which provides for the people a sense of belonging and fellowship.
